General Labour:

Westcoast Outbuildings is seeking full-time energetic individuals with entry-level skills for our General Labourer position. No experience required, we will train you.

Job Specs:

  • 2 Positions Available.
  • 99% INDOOR WORK
  • We are an Equal Opportunity Employer supporting Women in Trades.
  • From $18 per hour.
  • Comprehensive Health Benefits
  • Regular Factory hours: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday – Thursday
  • Hours subject to change.
  • 10 Hr Shift / 4 Days a week.
  • After hours and weekends on-call.

General Tasks:

  • Cutting wood.
  • Sweeping / Cleaning / Organizing.
  • Manual labour.
  • Demolition and installation.
  • Assisting carpenters as required.

Personal Requirements:

  • 99% INDOOR WORK
  • Must be willing to learn new things and take direction.
  • A vehicle is required and valid license.
  • PPE Required: steel toe boots, safety glasses and ear protection.
  • Personal Tools: Pencils, knife, hammer, belt/pouch, nail puller, 25′ measuring tape.
  • Some short distance travel may be required.
  • Onsite and factory work.
  • Must be physically fit.
  • Attention to health/safety of self and co-workers.
  • Perform heavy manual labour, including bending, stooping, reaching, carrying and lifting heavy objects weighing up to 45 lbs.
  • Walk approximately 2-6 km per day on a variety of surfaces including, concrete and gravel.

Plumber

Westcoast Outbuildings is seeking full-time energetic individuals. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Plumber located in Squamish, BC. This position is accountable to plan, install and service plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls in our modular building solutions.

General Tasks:

  • Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or shop drawings to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required
  • Prepare layouts and patterns using measuring tools, including selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work to measure and mark materials
  • Installation of plumbing in modular units from rough-in to finishing
  • Installation of water lines, drainage, fixtures and venting systems
  • Assemble and install valves and fittings
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors.
  • Cut an opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
  • Measure, cut, bend and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines
 
Qualifications:
  • Journeyman and/or indentured apprentice in plumbing trade required
  • Previous experience and plumbing trade required
  • A strong commitment to safety and a safety leader
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications and work from sketches
  • Proficient and able to work safely with a wide variety of hand and power tools and materials required of the trade
  • Must be able to work independently or in a group/team setting as an effective learner/listener
  • Skilled in the residential construction, repair, restoration and installation techniques for assigned work projects
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding position and a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to work in an indoor confined work area environment
  • Current Fall Arrest certificate would be considered an asset
  • Position requires strong English communication skills including written, spoken and comprehension
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
